Like many good ideas, our plan to start Vines & Wines came about over a glass of wine –in fact, many glasses of wine. At the risk of sounding like complete show offs, we were cycling through vineyards on a wine tour just outside of Vienna, ironically led by an Australian guy from Bankstown, when we thought – hey, we could do this too. As the wine flowed, so did our ideas and while some of our more outlandish proposals were shelved, we woke up the next day with sore but clear heads- let’s do wine. And let’s do it in Canberra.
So over the next few years we worked hard at expanding our knowledge by attending as many wine tastings in London as we could and by visiting as many wine regions in Europe as we could afford – what a hassle I know! However, every tasting and every holiday just reinforced our passion for the grape and so here we are, up and running with Vines & Wines. Our business is pretty simple, we love wine – learning about it, talking about it and most of all, drinking it! Hope you can join us on a Canberra wine tour soon.
